SUSTAINABILITY COMPONENTS AND LEED

Virtualwind provides support for the development of sustainability components and aspects of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The Virtualwind analysis of micro-climates around individual buildings, as well as buildings in complex urban and suburban environments, can be used in support of the following:

•   IDP facilitation -  As discussed above

•   LEED administration, submission and review - Energy and microclimate simulations during brainstorming sessions to assist consideration of creative alternatives

•   LEED contractor training - Educate contractors regarding sustainable design considerations

•   Project management - Ongoing analysis and optimization of micro-climate considerations at all stages of the project as design details are elaborated

•   Green marketing - Informing stakeholders and related parties regarding the benefits of sustainable design considerations of the project

•   Develop monitoring and measuring systems - Optimal placement of equipment to monitor and measure microclimate factors around the building.

•   Energy performance - Provide an energy performance analysis based on microclimate simulations

•   Energy systems - Optimize the design and placement of renewable energy systems based on microclimate considerations

•   Incentive programs - Design simulations to demonstrate qualification for incentive programs, such as Savings by Design in California

•   LEED Green Building - Utilize microclimate simulations in support of LEED Green Building Rating System for new construction, existing buildings, homes and neighborhood developments
