The Virtualwind software is available in two versions: the Standard Version for use on computers with a single-core processeor, and the Pro Version which is highly optimized for parallel execution on computers with multi-core processors (such as PCs with dual-core, quad-core or dual quad-core processors, or multi-processor servers). Within both versions, licensing options are available for:

1. Single-seat academic - We offer special discounted prices for instructors and students in academic institutions.

2. Single-seat commercial - For installation on one comuter.

3. Floating - Each floating license permits usage of the software by one person at a time, with the software installed on multiple computers on a network.

4. Site license - Unlimited installations on any number of systems at a single site with one system serving as a Master. 5. Cluster - Unlimited use by any number of users connected to a Linux cluster

Remote Submission - Our Remote Submission Software enables users to submit jobs to any licensed machine on a network (including their own machine). If they submit to another machine, they can choose to have the simulation results returned to their computer (if they are still online), or the results can be left on the remote machine. They can then visualize the results on that remote machine, or transfer the assembled data files to another machine (including their own) for visualization.

**Important consideration: When will you want to use the Pro Version (vs. Standard Version) and when will you want to use the Site License (vs. Floating or Single-System)? Of course, if you want to achieve optimal simulation performance, you can purchase a Pro Version Site License:

•   Use the Pro Version to reduce the time it takes to run a single simulation. To achieve this performance advantage, the simulation code that is running on a machine with x cores is divided into x blocks that execute independently. However, at the end of each simulation time step, these blocks must communicate data with each other, so they must be running on a system that is designed for parallel execution (such as a dual-core, quad-core, or dual-quad-core computer).

•   Use a Site License to reduce the time it takes to run multiple simulations (for example, a batch of runs of the same model with multiple wind directions, or totally different models). This is useful to reduce your overall simulation time on a project when you have multiple independent computers on a network. Each independent computer may be a single-core or multi-core machine.
